Since its inception in 2009, the MyLocalHero event, held at the prestigious Grove Hotel in Watford, has celebrated heroes who have played an integral part in the community, raising more than £100,000 for local charities in the process.

In the past, we have honoured people from all over our news areas whose dedication in making their communities better for everyone we feel is deserving of commendation.

Never has this been more important in these post-pandemic days, after witnessing people from across our 17 magazines step in and show outstanding bravery and commitment to their communities, as well as displaying prowess in other areas such as fundraising, sporting achievement, innovation and creativity.

The awards are a way to witness these unsung heroes whilst giving back to the community, a core value which is so important here at MyLocalNews.

Well, the time has come to get your nominations in for the MyLocalHero 2024 Awards.

Do you know someone who is worthy of recognition? Maybe someone who has gone beyond expectations in helping someone, who has stood up in the face of danger, excelled in a sporting competition or raised an impressive sum for charity?

We want to honour these unsung heroes at the premium event that truly recognises the efforts of our community heroes.
